Station Agent's House

The Railway Historical Society in Croghan, NY has exciting news to share!

As many of you know there are always restoration projects to do. One of our projects has been the station agent’s apartment in the Croghan Depot. This depot was the living quarters of the Shorland Forney family. This is where the station agent, his wife Pat and kids lived while working at the depot. There were two generations of this family that worked as station agents at the Croghan Depot.

We are located in the Croghan depot 9781 Main Street Croghan, NY. Benefits the Railway Historical Society of Northern NY 501c-3 museum dedicated to preserving the age of the Iron Horse on the Lowville Beaver River Railroad. RHSNNY is a non-profit 501c-3 Educational Museum. Don’t forget to see the 1918 Shay Locomotive!

Proud partner of Northern New York Community Foundation.
